A month ago, we had a project in IT1 wherein we were asked to make a performance video, upload it on YouTube, and post it on the class Facebook group (which, by the way, had 100+ members in it). The top ten with the most ‘likes’ gets to have bonus points for the first exam.
I literally panicked when this was discussed to us in the classroom because frankly, I am not a very talented person and I think the only thing I could do that’s close to a “performance” is to lick my elbow with music playing in the background.
But in the end, I thought of doing a paper beatbox rip-off of Jon Cozart’s video on YouTube. It turned out really bad (as in as bad as Anne Curtis’s singing voice) so I’m not gonna post it here. The funny part was, after a few weeks of voting, our lecture announced that I PLACED 3RD IN THE TOP TEN!
You know life, though. When you finally become happy about something, it just sneaks up your ass and bites you in your inner intestines without even giving you a warning. Our lecturer suddenly decided that we get bonus points IF AND ONLY IF we perform in front of the whole class.
I cried for about 2 days. BUT I had this cool idea of singing the Pokemon Theme Song! It was easy to sing, not to mention the fact that everyone knew the song. The problem was, I didn’t know how to play the guitar which supposedly could have distracted everyone from the horrible voice that I have. So I made this really cool video on YouTube!

A week after, it was finally “performance day” again and can I just say that the others in the top ten were UH-AMAZING. They were legit actors, singers, dancers, and musicians and I was the only one who couldn’t do shit. I was the second to last performer and after a million deep breaths, I finally stepped up the stage.
Everyone (from people I knew to strangers) was already cheering for me because when my name flashed the screen, the picture that showed up, along with my name, was this:

Apparently, our professor stalked every performer’s Facebook account JUST to have something to use for the event.
And then it happened. The video played, and I SANG. I FUCKING SANG YOU GUISE. IN FRONT OF A HUNDRED PLUS PEOPLE. AND THEY WERE ALL CHEERING. AND LAUGHING. AND THEN THEY CHEERED AGAIN.
Fuck, it was one of the happiest days of my life. Thank God for my video making skills. It was my first time singing and performing in front of a crowd of people I didn’t know and it was a success.
In another news, I have 3 exams and 4 papers to write due Monday so please understand why I wrote 12 long paragraphs of pure bullshit that was a waste of your time.
And just for the heck of it, I’d like to show you guys my new desktop wallpaper:
